Please help us to save valuable time by trying to find your answer here before e-mailing us with any questions. We have included most of the questions we usually get asked. -Thanks. Q: HOW CAN I SEND MY PICTURE TO YOU FOR PRINTING? A: You can send your picture as an e-mail attachment to: ricksprintshop@googlemail.com Alternatively, you can post it as a photograph, or as a digital image on a CD-Rom (Address on request) Q: IS MY PICTURE SIZE ANY GOOD FOR PRINTING? A: Your picture ideally needs to be at least 500kb (.jpg format) or over 1MB for large A1 prints. We can still print using smaller-sized picture files (but they may be a bit fuzzy). If you are unsure, e-mail your picture to: ricksprintshop@googlemail before buying, and we can advise you of your options. Q: WILL I LOOSE THE EDGES OF MY PICTURE TO THE FRAME-WRAP? A: Not necessarily. In many cases, we can use a special technique (trade secret) to extend your picture so that your picture remains on the front face of the canvas, and is not lost to the edges. If you are concerned about this, just email your picture to us before making a purchase, and we will advise you. Q: WILL I GET MY ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH / DISK BACK? A: Yes absolutely. Any originals you send (pictures or disks) are returned to you with your finished print. Q: WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY PRINT TO ARRIVE? A: Once payment and a suitable picture have been received, the normal manufacturing turn-around time is about one working day. If the order is completed by 11am, it will usually post the same day. Framed prints A2 size and smaller (and prints under 24" long) are sent using Next-Day services (mainly first class). Sizes above A2 are posted using Royal Mail standard parcels and will usually take 3-5 working days to arrive, although many take less time. Q: CAN I COLLECT or DROP OFF MY PRINT IN PERSON? A: No, Sorry. For insurance reasons, we are not allowed collections or transactions in person. Q: CAN YOU STILL PRINT MY PICTURE EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT A GOOD QUALITY? A: Yes, you are the boss! If you send a picture that is smaller than 500kb (or 1MB for larger prints), we can still print it. It just means the finished result will not be as sharp or as clear as you might want it to be. The lower the quality & size of the original picture, the more fuzzy the printed result will be. Q: CAN YOU CROP MY PICTURE TO ACHIEVE A BETTER COMPOSITION? A: Yes, we can usually crop your picture to give it a good composition for your final print. Rick has been an experienced and published photographer for over 20 years and will get the best out of your print. Just ask when ordering (this is a free service). Q: CAN YOU CUT OUT THE BACKGROUND OF MY PICTURE AND PLACE IT ON A DIFFERENT BACKGROUND? A: Possibly. We would need to see the picture to make sure it can be done. This type of work can take some time and labour so there may be a charge for the service. This includes the restoration of old photographs and the removal of backgrounds etc please e-mail your picture for a free, no-obligation quote. use: ricksprintshop@googlemail.com Q: CAN YOU COPY / SCAN MY ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH? A: Yes. when you make a purchase, you have the option to post an old-fashioned photograph to us by post. It will be returned to you with your print. Please note: Although we take the greatest care of your items, all pictures are sent at your own risk and we can not be held responsible for any damage/loss. Please bear this in mind if sending valuable or sentimental items. Q: CAN YOU PRINT MY WEDDING / SCHOOL / STUDIO / MAKEOVER PHOTOS? A: If they are professionally-taken pictures, we would need to see a copyright release form in order to print them. This is usually always supplied if your purchase from the photography company includes the copyright release option. For example, if you buy a CD-Rom disk from, say, Olan Mills, and your purchase includes the rights to re-print the images, there will be a signed release form on the sleeve of the disk case saying so. E-mailing a scan of the copyright release form to us will normally be ok (as long as it shows your customer ref / ID number, and the photography company name.) Please DO NOT send studio or professionally taken pictures without a copyright release form, we simply are not allowed to print them, and you may incur return postage charges if you decide cancel your order. Q: CAN YOU PRINT COPYWRITTEN MATERIAL? A: Not without a release form (see above question). Sorry there are no exceptions. Please DO NOT send studio or professionally taken pictures without a copyright release form, we simply are not allowed to print them, and you may incur return postage charges if you decide to cancel your order. Q: "I AM NOT VERY GOOD AT COMPUTERS! - HOW DO I PHYSICALLY E-MAIL MY PICTURE TO YOU?" (HOW DO I SEND IT AS AN E-MAIL ATTACHMENT)? A: Create a new e-mail addressed to: ricksprintshop@googlemail.com In your e-mail program, click the "attach file" button (usually represented by a picture of a paperclip). A new window should open up showing all of the folders on your hard drive. Locate your picture file and double-click it. It should attach itself to the email. Write your email wording and click "send" Q: WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM SIZE OF THE PICTURE FILE I CAN E-MAIL TO YOU? A: You can attach a file of up to 10MB in size to any single email (when sending to the ricksprintshop@googlemail.com address). WHAT IS THE BEST PICTURE FORMAT TO SEND? The best format to send and work with, is a .Jpeg (.jpg) with little or no compression (no more that about 10%). If sending your picture on a CD-ROM disk, you can make it as large as you want. Q: MY PICTURE IS QUITE SMALL - SHOULD I INCREASE THE RESOLUTION OF IT BEFORE I SEND IT TO YOU? A: No, This is not necessary - we will do everything possible to make your print result as good as it can possibly be - this includes increasing the resolution if necessary. If you increase the resolution, you will just make the file size much larger than necessary to send. Q: WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY QUESTION HAS NOT BEEN ANSWERED HERE? A: feel free to email your question to: ricksprintshop@googlemail.com
Ink Choice is essential! Dont forget, we are using superior “pigment” inks. If any of our competitors seem slightly cheaper, there is a high probablility they are using cheap, fast-fading dye-based inks (not pigment inks).so their products will be considerably inferior.
VERY Fast Dispatch! Place an order before 11am and it will usually be dispatched the same (working) day!
We are the Cheapest in the UK! We are confident that we are the cheapest pigment ink printer in the UK,
